Oyama began altogether against 52  bulls, about which three were killed immediately and the other 49 with its hand  edge impact (knifehand) the horns were reduced. Oyama visits 1952 for the first  time the USA, where he stayed one year long. Oyama tratt against professional  boxer and ring fighters to or against everyone, which provoked him. Its 270  Gegener landed all on the soil, most with the first impact. None of the fights  lasted longer than 3 minutes. 1953 opened Oyama its first Dojo. The actual  beginning Oyama karate coincided three years later with the opening of the Dojo  behind the university of Rikkyo. In June 1964 current world headquarters Honbu  was officially inaugurated. On the occasion of this event Mas Oyama lent also  the designation "Kyokushin" to its combat style. The style "of the last truth"  was definitely born. Today this combat style is common in the whole world, with  approx. 15 million members.

The different  karate methods have the consequence that there is no actual karate world champion.  Matches take place partly together, but one often remains under itself. Two  combat systems can general be differentiated: Non Contact and full contact. In  most kinds of karate today the Non Contact system applies. The impacts end  scarcely before the body of the opponent. It is rated with points.
